Homemade Biscuits

The first time I made these biscuits, there were more milk taste to them. The texture wise is the same. This time I made some changes to the recipe to make them more scone like. They came out great with the buttery taste, though more sugar could have been added for those who have a sweet tooth!

Here's the recipe!

Biscuits
(able to make 14 biscuits)

Ingredients:
250g self raising flour, sifted
1 tablespoon brown sugar (any other kind of sugar is fine)
1/4 teaspoon salt
120g butter (I used salted butter and it must be cold!)
150ml milk
2 eggs

Directions:
1. Mix the flour, sugar and salt together.
2. Cut the cold butter into smaller pieces and pinch them with the flour (blend them together).
3. In another bowl, mix the egg and milk together.
4. Make a hole in the centre of the flour and pour in the mixture of egg and milk.
5. Use a spatula to mix them together (The purpose is to make the flour wet. DO NOT OVERMIX!).
6. If the dough is wet, add more flour.
7. Put a little flour on a surface and knead the dough a few times.
8. Pat the dough to half inches thick.
9. Use a biscuit cutter to form the biscuits.
10. Beat an egg and use a pastry brush to brush the surface of the biscuits.
11. Put the biscuits in the preheated oven at 200°C and bake them for 10-15mins.

Eat it with jam or peanut butter to enhance the taste! I ate it with my childhood peanut butter with grape jelly.
